Step out of your routine and join Alix for a week of inner and outer exploration amidst the stunning natural beauty on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Immerse yourself in nurturing practices for your body and mind and reconnect with nature and the wisdom of your own spirit.
Each day will include both active and restorative yoga practices and guided meditation to begin and end the day. There will be ample free time to spend connecting with the environment through surfing, SUP, whale and bird watching, hiking in the rainforest, swimming in the ocean and river, or simply resting, relaxing, and enjoying wholesome meals of locally grown fruits and vegetables.
The Mindful Hatha yoga practices will weave together meditative practices from various traditions along with carefully sequenced active and restorative poses, gentle unwinding movements, vinyasa, and breath work. Detailed alignment, experiential anatomy, sensory awareness, and mindfulness is emphasized to encourage deep listening and a compassionate understanding of one’s own mind-body with the overall intent of cultivating prajna (insight and wisdom) within the yoga experience on and off the mat. Classes are suitable for all levels and modifications of poses will be given as needed.
